Key to this initiative is the enhancement of direct communication channels and the scheduling of regular meetings, which will facilitate the swift exchange of information and allow for prompt action against cross-border criminal activities. The agreement also includes measures to intensify patrols and monitoring of border trails and crossings to deter illegal entry and exit, thus preventing organized transnational crime.
Furthermore, the provinces intend to expand their cooperation to address issues related to terrorism, arms trafficking, and high-tech crime, underscoring a commitment to tackle not only traditional forms of crime but also emerging non-traditional security challenges.
