Xiaomi is making significant strides in evolving beyond its origins as a smartphone manufacturer, emerging as a technology powerhouse with a comprehensive ecosystem that touches various facets of daily life. Central to this transformation is its “Human x Car x Home” strategy, which aims to create a seamless integration of its products across multiple domains including home, transportation, and digital services.
Recently, Xiaomi ventured into the network-attached storage (NAS) market by launching the Xiaomi Smart Storage device, which is available in 4TB, 8TB, and 16TB versions. This new product was met with impressive demand, receiving over 30,000 orders within the first hour of its crowdfunding campaign. The device not only provides storage solutions but also includes advanced features such as multi-device backups, remote file access, 4K media streaming, and AI-driven photo management.
Expanding far beyond smartphones and televisions, Xiaomi’s extensive product line now includes tablets, smartwatches, wireless earbuds, air purifiers, routers, home appliances, smart lighting solutions, gaming monitors, electric scooters, coffee machines, portable printers, and electric vehicles. At the core of this interconnected ecosystem is HyperOS, Xiaomi’s proprietary software platform that facilitates the connectivity of devices across homes and vehicles, ensuring a seamless user experience while maintaining affordability and accessibility.
This strategic expansion has yielded positive financial outcomes for the company. In the first quarter of 2026, Xiaomi reported substantial revenue of 99.1 billion yuan and a net income of 4.72 billion yuan. For the entire fiscal year of 2025, the company achieved a record adjusted net profit of 39.2 billion yuan, underscoring the success of its comprehensive approach.
Xiaomi has also made notable advancements in the electric vehicle sector, having delivered 600,000 vehicles since entering the market. The company anticipates that total vehicle deliveries will reach 550,000 units by the close of 2026. By intertwining consumer electronics, smart-home devices, digital infrastructure, and electric automobiles, Xiaomi is asserting its position as one of the most ambitious and versatile technology firms on the global stage.
