IRM Leverages Tech to Enhance Risk Management Training via HRD Corp in Malaysia

by admin477351

The Institute of Risk Management (IRM) has unveiled a significant development for risk management education in Malaysia. Its International Certificate in Operational Risk Management (ICORM) and three professional risk management award programs have become eligible for HRD Corp funding. This initiative aims to broaden access to top-tier risk management education, thereby equipping Malaysian employers and professionals with vital skills as they navigate the challenges posed by digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and other contemporary issues.

This announcement is in line with Malaysia’s strategic focus on workforce development, particularly in areas where there is a noticeable skills gap in risk management roles. By offering flexible, workplace-oriented training, IRM seeks to enhance decision-making capabilities and bolster organizational resilience. The programs now eligible for HRD Corp funding include specialized courses such as Managing AI Risks in the Workplace, which addresses governance, ethics, and operational risks related to artificial intelligence, and Financial Services Risk Management, which delves into risk practices within banking, insurance, and financial services.

Another program, Managing Organisational Risks, introduces participants to the principles of enterprise risk management, while the ICORM covers comprehensive aspects of operational risk, including frameworks, controls, monitoring, reporting, and risk culture. These offerings are designed to help organizations respond adeptly to the evolving landscape of regulatory compliance and operational resilience.

IRM Asia, the regional arm of the institute and a registered HRD Corp training provider, highlighted that Malaysian employers who qualify can leverage this funding to invest in these internationally accredited professional qualifications. This move is part of a broader strategy by IRM to extend professional risk management education throughout the ASEAN region, ultimately aiding organizations in the development of enduring risk management capabilities.
